The Water Corporation recently announced changes to the frequency of billing. As of 1 July this year, they will issue invoices every two months in an effort to make bills smaller and more manageable for households. Water use charges and service charges will also be combined in the same bill.
Department Manager Renaye Roebuck says the changes will make things easier for tenants and owners. “Owners and tenants can keep a track of the water they are using and they’ll be able to see if their usage jumps dramatically, which may mean a water leak. And, obviously, it’s easier to pay a smaller amount more often than a large amount.”
“The Water Corporation will also be introducing something called MY WATER, which is a website where owners or agents can manage the water accounts; we will be able to look up old accounts, find water meters, see usage and when accounts have been paid.”
