As the weather starts to get cooler, we’re reminding all property owners to have their smoke alarms and RCDs serviced. Both of these life-saving devices need regular maintenance to keep them working effectively, especially during winter.

It’s your obligation to ensure that your rental property has working smoke alarms and RCDs. To assist you in achieving this, Rentwest can organise annual servicing of these devices. If you would like us to arrange this please contact your property manager. The technician will:

  • Change the batteries in all smoke detectors not connected to mains power.
  • Confirm that your smoke detectors are working properly.
  • Test both RCD units. This test resets the reliability of the RCD, ensuring that it is ready to protect the occupants of the house from electrocution.
