This month we’re having a chat with Property Manager Angela Whibberley, who joined the team back in 2010.
Can you tell us a little bit about your portfolio?
I currently manage 95 properties. The suburbs I cover are South Perth, Como, Karawara, Applecross, Mt Pleasant, Winthrop, Willagee, Bibra Lake, Coolbellup and Hamilton Hill.
What are the highlights/features of your area?
The South Perth region is buzzing with the café strip, foreshore, parks and restaurants. With close access to the city, this is a great area for families, couples and singles alike.
In the Como and Karawara areas we are seeing a rise in university students due to the easy access to Curtin University and the city.
Towards the southern suburbs you have many great schools and parks, and close access to the beach. I’m very lucky to have such wonderful suburbs to manage and, having lived in the areas, have experienced the lifestyle and can offer knowledge to my tenants and owners, current and prospective.
What is your take on the Perth market at the moment? Have you seen lots of interest in the properties you’re showing?
Recently there has been a rise in the vacancy rate, which means rents are starting to stabilise due to low interest rates and a lot of people entering the home ownership market. We are also seeing more investors buying properties, which is contributing to the increase in the vacancy rate. There is still demand for rental properties, some areas higher than others; overall most properties are being let within a few weeks of being advertised.
