The Butler train station opened this past Sunday after three years of development. The new station is just 37 minutes from the Perth CBD and more than 2000 commuters will pass through it each day. Congestion on the Mitchell Freeway and surrounding roads is expected to ease over the coming months.
Features of the new development include:
- A park ’n’ ride station with approximately 930 car bays.
- Eleven new buses to provide feeder services into Butler and Clarkson stations.
- Four additional railcars acquired to accommodate extra passengers.
- Three road-over-rail bridges at Landbeach Boulevard, Benenden Avenue and the future Butler Boulevard.
